Now You Can Take Qatar MoPH Licensing Exams Abroad

Qatar's Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has introduced a significant update for healthcare workers and food industry professionals: certain licensing exams can now be taken outside Qatar at accredited international test centers. This means you no longer need to travel to Doha specifically for your exam — you can complete it from a recognized center in your home country or region.

Which exams are covered? The two main exams affected by this policy are: (1) The Food Handler Licensing Examination — required for anyone working in food preparation, handling, or service in Qatar, and (2) Healthcare Prometric Exams — required for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other regulated healthcare professionals seeking to practice in Qatar.

How does it work? To take your MoPH exam abroad, you must register through the official MoPH or Prometric portal, select an accredited test center outside Qatar, book your exam slot at an approved international location, and ensure your center is officially recognized by MoPH or Prometric's global network. Always verify that your chosen center appears on the MoPH's official approved list before booking.

What are the benefits? Taking your exam internationally saves time and money by eliminating the need for an early trip to Qatar before your job even starts. It is especially valuable for candidates who are still in their home country preparing for deployment to Qatar, or for those between contracts who want to renew their certification without returning to Doha.

Important reminders: Only officially accredited and MoPH-approved international test centers are valid — do not book through unofficial providers. Your exam results and certificate must still be submitted to MoPH Qatar for final licensing approval. Requirements and approved center lists may change, so always check the latest updates on the official MoPH website (moph.gov.qa) or contact your Qatar employer or recruitment agency for guidance.
